After relocating to Edmonton to study at the University of Alberta (U of A), he furthered his education at the Vancouver School of Art (1963). He then returned to Edmonton to teach at the Faculty of Extension at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (1964 – 1973), the Edmonton Art Gallery (1963 – 1967), the U of A’s Faculty of Fine Arts (1970 – 1972, and 1981 – 1982) and Faculty of Extension (1964 – 1983).
