ARTIST BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: David William Ballantyne is an Alberta photographer who was born in Calgary. Ballantyne’s work has been published both in magazines and online, and he has exhibited across the Canadian prairies with group and solo shows in Alberta, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. In 1981, he participated in the Third International Triennial Exhibition of Photography at the Museum for Art and History in Fribourg, Switzerland. Ballantyne has been recognized as a finalist in the British Kew Royal Botanic Gardens’ International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. Ballantyne is a self-taught photographer. He holds a BSc in zoology from the University of Alberta (1976). Compiled 2014
