ARTIST BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Sheila Craipley is a Peace Country landscape artist working in oil and acrylic. She is mainly self-taught, but studied Landscape Painting at Grande Prairie Regional College with Robert Guest, and took several technique courses. She prefers plein air painting when possible; however; extreme weather changes often keep her in the studio. Living in a rural setting with big skies, rapidly changing seasons, and a myriad of colours provides constant inspiration for her paintings. Craipley has exhibited throughout Northern Alberta and BC, including at the Courtyard Gallery (Enderby), Muse Gallery (Grande Prairie, AB), and the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie (formerly the Prairie Gallery) in Grande Prairie. Her work can be found in the collections of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Grande Prairie’s Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, as well as in private collections throughout Canada and the USA.
