ADMINISTRATIVE
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The series consists of diverse materials transferred directly to the Provincial Archives of Alberta from the Office of the Premier. The series includes a 1939 report on provincial debt submitted by Dr. Jacob Viner; the journal of F.V. Stone, Premier William Aberhart’s Executive Secretary, for 1934-1935; files pertaining to the royal family, royal visits, coronations and the naming of schools after the royal family, 1935-1965; the submission of Alberta oil firms to the 1957 federal Royal Commission on Energy; a 1959 film of the farewell of University of Alberta president Dr. Andrew Stewart; memorabilia from National Flag Day; a 1968 film of the resignation of Premier E.C. Manning; speeches, photographs and other items from premier’s conferences and federal-provincial constitutional conferences; the 1971 throne speech; a videocassette copy of the 1954 Grey Cup game; and a photograph from the tenth anniversary celebration of the Alberta Cultural Heritage Council in 1980.
