HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Edith Hannah Gostick (nee Thomas) was born on January 15, 1894 in Porth Glamorganshire, South Wales, to Elizabeth Mathews and Thomas Thomas. She was educated in South Wales and came to Canada in 1910 where she married Frank Gostick on October 5, 1914. Together they had two sons, Ronald and William. Gostick was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion BESL and served as a Social Credit MLA for Calgary, Alberta from 1935 to 1940. From 1940 to 1959 she was the Provincial Librarian at the Legislature Library in Edmonton.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: Fonds consists of two Alberta Social Credit Party election posters.
