View of the streets of Lethbridge, Alberta.
Addition information provided by the Galt Museum: The photograph was almost certainly taken from the roof or upper floor of the Alberta Railway & Irrigation Company Building that was located on the east side of what is now the 200 block of 7 Street South (called Glyn Street at the time the photograph was taken), across the street from Galt Gardens. The view looks west across Galt Gardens toward the intersection of 2 Avenue South (called Ford Street at the time) and 5 Street South (called Round Street at the time). The buildings facing the photographer are on the west side of 5 Street South. The building on the south side (left) of 2 Avenue South is the Lethbridge Hotel, much changed but still there today. The building on the north side (right) of 2 Avenue South is the former Higinbotham’s Drug Store, which also served as the Post Office at that time. That building is still standing as well.
