The Provincial Archives of Alberta holds published brand registration records from the 1890’s through the 1990’s. You are welcome to visit the Provincial Archives in person to review these records; there is no charge to use the facilities.

In the alternative, we can undertake a search of the records for you. The cost of a brand search is Cdn$30.

To undertake the search, we need the following information:

• Name of the owner (or a description of the brand if the name of the owner is not known)
• Was it a Horse or a cattle brand?
• Where was it used (what community)?
• Approximately when was it in use?
