Question Number 182

Some time ago I came across a photo of 'Men Harvesting Ice' circa 1905. There was mention that the photo was courtesy of the Alberta Provincial Archives. I would like to use this photo or a similar one on an interpretive sign. How do I acquire a digital copy and what is the cost?

The Provincial Archives of Alberta holds several photos of ice harvesting, but I could not find anything specifically from 1905.

A high-resolution (300 DPI) scanned image suitable for public display would cost Cdn$40 + mail-out and GST.

If you wish to order a photograph, please contact the Business Manager, Justin McLeod, at (780) 415-4867 or by e-mail at justin.mcleod@gov.ab.ca.
