Question Number 228
why are you able to pull out old old residential files and you can not find the most recent school listings what happen? shouldn't the old files be the ones we can not find
Most of the records of Alberta Indian Residential Schools held by the Provincial Archives of Alberta were provided by the Federal Government. Some few additional records were donated by the Anglican Church of Canada.
If an organization chooses not to donate its archival records to the Provincial Archives, we will not have the records. There is no legal obligation that these records be sent to the Provincial Archives.
