Question Number 318

I am wish to determine when my great uncle Percy Joseph Craddock died. He and his wife Kate migrated to Edmonton, departing Liverpool, England and arriving at Portland Maine in 1913.

The Provincial Archives of Alberta holds death registration records for Edmonton for the time period ca. 1870 - ca. 1980.

Note that these records are not indexed, so to locate a specific individual, it would be necessary to know at least approximately when they died.

You are welcome to visit the Provincial Archives in person to review these records; there is no charge to use the facilities.

In the alternative, contract researchers are available to search the records on your behalf. The rate is Cdn$40 per hour (minimum of 1 hour, prepaid).

The Provincial Archives of Alberta requires payment in advance for all orders. We can accept Visa and MasterCard, or we can invoice you. The research will commence once payment has been received. There is a Cdn$6.00 mail-out charge on non-Canadian orders. Unfortunately, the Provincial Archives cannot accept personal cheques.

If you wish to hire a contract researcher, please contact us.

In the alternative, you may wish to request a death certificate from:
