| | OTHER HOLDINGS: | Benson, Daryl | | ARTIST BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | Daryl Benson was born and raised in Alberta. He is a father of two daughters and lives in Edmonton. His training in photography was acquired through courses from the University of Alberta - Faculty of Extension in Edmonton and from the Southwest Cultural Centre. Benson, an award-winning photographer who focuses primarily on landscape and travel images, is also a contributor to the Masterfile and Getty Images stock agencies. His work has been featured in numerous newspapers and other publications, and he is a contributing editor to Photo Life, Outdoor Photographer and PC Photo magazines. He has also self-published three books: A Guide to Photographing the Canadian Landscape; Alberta, a collection of images celebrating the provincial Centennial in 2005; and Canada, a book of images depicting Canadiana.
Benson has travelled to and photographed every continent on the globe. A member of both the Canadian Association for Photographic Art and the North American Nature Photography Association, he has presented on photography to professionals and enthusiasts around the world.
