| ARTIST BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | Felix Zbigniew Plawski, born in Olecko, Poland, is a photographer and filmmaker. He received his formal education at the Institute of Photography in Warsaw, where he studied both photography and filmmaking. Throughout his career, Plawski has received numerous prestigious awards, including an Honourable Mention in the Hasselblad Masters competition and several accolades from the International Photography Awards, recognizing his work in architecture, nature, fine art, and portraiture.
His photography has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Poland, the United States, and Canada. Some of his notable solo exhibitions include showcases at the VAAA Gallery in Edmonton and the Real Art Gallery in Olecko. Plawski has also participated in group exhibitions such as the Works Art & Design Festival in Edmonton and the International Salon of Still Life Photography in Czestochowa, Poland.
In 1996, Plawski moved to New York City to focus on personal and commercial photography projects, eventually settling in Edmonton in 2000, where he opened his own studio. In addition to photography, he has directed several short films and documentaries, with projects ranging from adaptations of Julio Cortázar’s writings to explorations of art and culture.
Plawski’s work is part of private collections and has been exhibited internationally in Canada, Germany, Poland, and the United States. He currently lives in Edmonton with his wife and their son. |
