HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | The Fort Saskatchewan Pastoral Charge was formed in 1943 with the amalgamation of the Fort Saskatchewan (Rural) Pastoral Charge and Fort Saskatchewan (Town) Pastoral Charge. Originally a multi-point pastoral charge, it became a two-point charge in 1956, including First United Church in Fort Saskatchewan and Partridge Hill United Church located in the rural area outside of Fort Saskatchewan. In 2009, Partridge Hill United Church became a part of the newly formed Elk Island Pastoral Charge and the Fort Saskatchewan Pastoral Charge is now a single-point pastoral charge consisting of First United Church. It is located in the Yellowhead Presbytery. |
CUSTODIAL HISTORY: | In 1975, the Conference entered into a permanent loan agreement with the Provincial Archives of Alberta (PAA) for the physical custody and control of the holdings of the Conference Archives and the records were relocated to the PAA in that same year. Records received after 1975 have come from the congregation, church members, or officers of the presbytery or the Conference.
Fort Saskatchewan Pastoral Charge donated the materials comprising PR1999.0345 on March 31, 1999 and PR2007.0470 on October 16, 2007.
