HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | H. Norman Fisher was born in England and came to Canada between 1903 and 1904. He joined his brother in Manitoba before moving to Sedalia, Alberta in 1909. Fisher was involved in the military during the Boer War and was given the nickname “Chico” during this time. He was also a supporter of the United Farmers of Alberta. |
SCOPE AND CONTENT: | Fonds consists of records reflecting H. Norman Fisher’s farming activities including correspondence regarding farmers’ debts and agricultural credit, manuscripts written by Fisher regarding hardships endured by farmers, and a certificate from an agricultural fair. Fonds also consists of other personal records including poems written by Fisher under the name Chico, photographs, and ribbons received by Fisher. |
