HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: The Edmonton Building and Construction Trades Council was granted its charter On July 15, 1946, as the Edmonton Alberta Building and Construction Trades Council, by the Building and Construction Trades Department of American Federation of Labor. The purpose of the Council was to act as an umbrella organization for, and to co-ordinate between, various affiliated unions in the building and construction trades. The Council was composed of Officers and an Executive Board, the Officers being the President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, Sergeant at Arms, and two Trustees, and the Executive Board being composed of delegates from each of the building and construction trade unions.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: Fonds consists of minutes, financial records, membership lists, and a copy of the Edmonton Building and Construction Trades Council charter.
