HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Victoria Anderson and Mary Barnett were born in 1890. In ca. 1898, their families traveled from Manitoba to Alberta in search of homesteads. The Anderson and Barnett families settled in Vermilion and Red Deer areas. In 1906, Victoria and Mary traveled by wagon from Waskasoo, Alberta to Vermilion, Alberta.
CUSTODIAL HISTORY:In 1972, Victoria Anderson gave her nephew, John C. Anderson the diary. John C. Anderson allowed Allen Ronaghan to prepare a typed transcript of the diary. Allen Ronaghan donated the transcript to the Provincial Archives of Alberta on behalf of John C. Anderson in 1992.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The fonds consists of a typed transcript, completed in 1992 by Allen Ronaghan of Victoria Anderson and Mary Barnett's diary documenting their wagon journey from Waskasoo, Alberta to Vermilion, Alberta in 1906. The fonds also includes a letter, written in 1972, from Victoria Anderson to John C. Anderson describing the diary.
