HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Jeanne Marie Rose (Boivin) Noël was born in Kansas, U.S.A., on February 15, 1910. Her family moved to Elnora, Alberta, in 1910 when her father received a homestead. Prior to living in the United States, her parents were from Quebec. Jeanne Boivin Noël spent most of her life in Alberta, living on farms in Saint-Edouard, Sainte-Lina, and Saint-Paul. She married Ernest Noël in 1931 and she retired from farming life in 1969. Ernest Antoine Joseph Noël was born in 1904 to Albert Noël and Regina Chauvin. Jeanne passed away in Saint-Paul on October 24, 1987.
CUSTODIAL HISTORY:After Jeanne Boivin Noël's death in 1987, the documents were held by her daughter, Denise Touchette, until donated to the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 2000. Denise Touchette donated her mother's photos in 2004.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The records are composed of personal diaries (1947-1987), personal correspondence (1927-1986), a notebook with natural diets and remedies, birth certificates and an annotated and indexed photo album.
