| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of records from the Planning Secretariat whose mandate was for collecting and analyzing information for use by the Department to form long-term plans and to identify policy alternatives.
This series documents the Secretariat's efforts to examine and explore issues for people with special needs. The project files relate to career education, planning and placement; occupational classification and analysis; human settlement studies; apprenticeship; native alcoholism education; community employment; vocational centres; third careers; retirement; and older and senior people. Files may contain research, analysis, reference materials, correspondence and reports.
The series also contains an 18-volume report on the condition of the working poor in Alberta. It is titled A Comparison of the Incidence of Low Incomes in Canada, the Prairie Provinces and Alberta, 1967-1975: An Update on the Report on the Income Population of Alberta, January 1977.
