| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of records from the Employment Development Sector whose mandate was for the identification of manpower gaps in Alberta's industrial and commercial sectors and to initiate remedial action to assist industry to meet its manpower needs. The area also contributed field employment data used to assist in determining long-range labour demands. Its program units included Job Identification, Manpower Training, and Manpower Mobility.
These files are general correspondence relating to manpower policy, the Immigration Act, and the amendment of the Adult Occupational Training Act.
These records were sampled by the Provincial Archives as evidence of the operations of the Career Development Sector.
