| CUSTODIAL HISTORY: | Some of these records were created in, and transferred from, the Department of Industry and Tourism to the Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs. They remained in the departmental records management system until they were transferred to the Provincial Archives of Alberta. |
| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of case files which document the Branch's responsibility to issue business licenses. The records include: applications for licenses; correspondence to and from the licensees; notices of cancellations of licenses; information about the size and type of businesses for which license applications were made; correspondence with officials in other ministries regarding jurisdictional issues; and health advisory recommendations (if applicable) regarding whether or not a business should have been licensed. |
