SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of records which document the Insurance Program's responsibility to provide protection to the public by: licensing all insurers; auditing provincial insurance companies to ensure their solvency; and investigating complaints about insurance or investment contracts. The records include: insurance agent licensing files, which include applications, examination reports and certificates of authority; examination files on insurance companies including actuarial reports, certificates of actuary and examination reports; information on insurance companies, such as copies of policy forms, insurance contracts, forms of endorsement, advertising material, bylaws, lists of directors, lists of shareholders and annual financial statements of insurance companies. |
