SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of records created by the Employee Relations Division as it managed and administered the collective bargaining process for the Alberta Government. The files document the Division's internal reporting activities on adjudication, conciliation, collective bargaining, bad faith bargaining, discrimination, and judicial consideration. As well the files include reports received from external bodies working in these areas.
The series also documents hearings for bargaining agent certification by the Public Service Employee Relations Board. These hearings were held when one labour union applied to the Board for certification as the bargaining agent in a work area where another labour union was already certified. The files include Board decisions along with correspondence and background information collected during the hearing process.
