SCOPE AND CONTENT: | Series consists of records from the Department of Social Services and Community Health documenting the department's responsibility for overseeing various institutions. The records are from the Alberta Institute for Girls, which became the Youth Development Centre in 1970 when it was transferred from the Attorney General to the Department of Health and Social Development. Responsibility for the Youth Development Centre was later transferred to the Department of Solicitor General in 1985. The series contains specimens of school and medical case files, payroll and personnel records, accounting information, and miscellaneous correspondence. |
