SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of records created by the Land Titles Office in Edmonton, which served as the registry for the Northern Alberta Land Registration District. The records include specimens of duplicate title certificates (1891-1928) and imprint seals, coal lands disposition map (1924), water rights registers, land assessment rolls (1913), registers of foreclosures (1915-1933), and tax arrears ledgers (1921-1974).

GENERAL NOTE: | Currently, the records relating to the land titles registry for the Province of Alberta are permanently retained by the Land Titles Offices in Edmonton and Calgary.

Researchers may be required to provide reference title numbers, owner's name, and legal description to locate a historical title. Some historical titles are available on the Alberta Land Titles Automation (ALTA) system while others are on microfilm or microfiche depending on when the titles were cancelled.
