The files may contain information and complaints, charges, statements of accused, indictments, warrants, praecipes, fiats, subpoenas, affidavits, warrants, transcripts of proceedings / preliminary hearings, exhibits, correspondence, statements of disbursements, and other legal documents relating to criminal actions or proceedings including appeals. The subseries also includes appeals of summary convictions (1917-1932). | | GENERAL NOTE: | All case files originally received in Accession GR1979.0285 appear on microfilm. The criminal procedure books and case files are available on microfilm in the Sandra Thomson Reading Room. However, prior to microfilming, the Alberta Law Foundation's Alberta Legal History Project Committee chose specimens of criminal case files from GR1979.0285 for preservation, while those not chosen were subsequently destroyed.
