| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The subseries consists of case files pertaining to surrogate / probate case files of the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories, based in Edmonton. The files contain records pertaining to grants of probate, the administration of estates, and other surrogate matters. The files may contain wills; applications for and grants of letters probate; orders pertaining to the administration of estates; financial records and summaries of costs related to the settlement of the estate; petitions and orders to pass accounts; affidavits of value and relationship; and returns of grant. These files may also contain copies of duplicate certificates of Title of Land and Mines and Mineral Rights. The files may also contain guardianship orders. |
