| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The subseries consists of probate and surrogate files (1906-1966), wills deposited (1920-1949), and probate fee book (1908-1920) of the District Court of Alberta based in Lethbridge, including similar matters heard by the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories from 1906-1907 prior to the creation of the District Court of Alberta. The files may contain wills; applications for and grants of letters probate; orders pertaining to the administration of estates; financial records and summaries of costs related to the settlement of the estate; petitions and orders to pass accounts; affidavits of value and relationship; and returns of grant. These files may also contain copies of duplicate certificates of Title of Land and Mines and Mineral Rights. .
