The files may contain information and complaints, charges, statements of accused, indictments, warrants, praecipes, fiats, subpoenas, affidavits, warrants, transcripts of proceedings / preliminary hearings, exhibits, correspondence, statements of disbursements, and other legal documents relating to criminal actions or proceedings including appeals. The files may also contain records from the local justices of the peace and police magistrates. The series also includes a Supreme Court of Alberta (Macleod) criminal trial index (1908-1931). | | GENERAL NOTE: | Criminal case files from October 1907 to 1972 were microfilmed, with only specimen cases retained in hard copy. These case files, along with the record book, are available on microfilm in the Sandra Thomson Reading Room.
