SCOPE AND CONTENT: The series consists of index (1883-1894), notebooks (1885-1890), and supplementary notebook (1890-1893) of Colonel James F. Macleod (1836-1894), a stipendiary magistrate and judge of the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories. The notebooks and index comprise his personal notes regarding the cases over which he presided. The series also includes a notebook used by his daughter Helen Macleod for class notes on literature, geography, and spelling.
RELATED RECORDS: The index and notebooks are Items 353-360 and 581 of GR1987.0094. Colonel Macleod's notebooks for the period 1890-1894 are Items 251-256 of PR1974.0001.
