| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The subseries consists of case files and procedure books pertaining to probate and surrogate matters heard by the District Court of Alberta at Wetaskiwin, including similar matters heard by the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories from 1906-1907 prior to the creation of the District Court of Alberta. The files may contain wills; applications for and grants of letters probate; orders pertaining to the administration of estates; financial records and summaries of costs related to the settlement of the estate; petitions and orders to pass accounts; affidavits of value and relationship; and returns of grant. These files may also contain copies of duplicate certificates of Title of Land and Mines and Mineral Rights. The subseries also includes guardianship orders. |
