HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | Each state council consists of local chapters, whose organization is governed by Section 242 of the Laws Governing the Knights of Columbus, section added by the Supreme Council in 1909. The function of a chapter is to coordinate the Columbian activities in a specified area, promulgate local by-laws, rules and regulations, and collect assessments to meet necessary expenses.
The Central Alberta Chapter includes Districts 17 to 21 from central Alberta.
The series is organized in sub-series pertinent to each district.

SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of administrative papers, correspondence, programs and activities planning files, minutes and reports, convention records, newsletters, membership information, financial records created and maintained by the chapter or its constituents. |
