HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Vera Collins Webb was a writer and an artist. Her short stories and poems were published in several newspapers, magazines and anthologies of Canadian poetry. She continued to paint and write into her 87th year when blindness forced her to stop her artistic activities. She died in November 1998 in Edmonton.; Vera Collins Webb was 31 years old and lived in Edmonton when King George and Queen Elizabeth came to Canada in 1939. She kept a daily journal of this Royal Visit.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: Fonds consists of a diary portraying the excitement of Canadians caused by the visit of King George and Queen Elizabeth in 1939. Vera Collins Webb illustrated the diary with her own watercolour paintings.
