HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | In 1952 the Saint-Edouard parish priest asked the Sisters of Assumption to take over the local school. From 1956 to 1959 the school had six classes, from grades one to eleven, for one hundred and forty students. The number of registrations declined slowly from 1959 to 1963 because of several families leaving the district. In 1963 there were only sixty registrations and the school closed. The Sisters moved to Saint-Paul to carry on their teaching. |
SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series includes the school and convent records. It consists of chronicles (1953-1965), programs of special events (1960-1961), financial records (1960-1964), lists of awards and first communicants (1961-1964). |
