HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: The Saint-Joachim parish convent opened in 1946 in a house facing the church. This new mission had three objectives: to ease the work done by three Sisters of the Assumption who taught at Grandin School, to answer the wishes of the parents needing a kindergarten, to hold headquarters for the provincial administration. The building held a chapel, the kindergarten and space for the Sisters. In 1962 the kindergarten, attended by more than forty children, was enlarged. The mission closed in 1981 and was later demolished to be replaced by another building.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The series includes the convent records. It consists of chronicles (1946-1981), administrative records (1969-1980), financial records (1946-1960), programs of special events (1946-1964), inventories (1951-1963), list of parish children (1946-1981), list of parish children's awards (1947-1964), results of exams taken by the parish children (1947-1964), list of parish communions (1946-1964).
