| HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | The negotiations for the establishment of the Sisters of the Assumption in a Catholic school at Wetaskiwin were started in 1906 by the Roman Catholic parish priest. Classes began in 1910 with thirty-nine students from different backgrounds. The French-Canadians were only a minority group among the other settlers. A strong anti-French movement developed among certain parents and local authorities. The Sisters were forced to leave the school in 1929 and they were replaced by Irish nuns. |

It consists of chronicles (1910-1929), financial records (1910-1930), programs of special events (1910-1928), inventories (1910-1927), list of students' awards (1910-1928), list of communions and confirmations (1911-1928), correspondence and administrative papers (1907-1922). |
