HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: The Johann Strauss Foundation obtains its scholarship funds from donations, grants, sponsorships and proceeds from various social events. Scholarships assist deserving Albertans in pursuing advanced music studies in Austria.
CUSTODIAL HISTORY:Secretary of the Johann Strauss Foundation, Anny Leeb, had the records in her custody before she donated the records to the Provincial Archives of Alberta.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: Series includes completed applications for Johann Strauss Foundation scholarships including resumes, photographs, and letters of reference, as well as notes, meeting minutes, and deliberations of the Committee. Also included are press releases about scholarship winners, programmes from recitals showcasing the scholarship winners, reports from past winners about their time in Austria, terms of agreement for accepting a scholarship, correspondence, posters, and application forms.
