The Alberta Hotel Association is a non-profit organisation that promotes tourism in Alberta. Its mission and goal is to work with the government and the public to enhance the image, the quality and the efficiency of the hotel industry in the province. The Alberta Hotel Association officially changed its name to the Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) in the spring of 2001. | | CUSTODIAL HISTORY: | George T. Barr deposited two accessions of records with the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1968 and 1973 in his capacity as Executive Vice-President of the Alberta Hotel Association. Geoff Newman also deposited two accessions of records in 1968 and 1969 while he was editor of the Alberta Hotel Review and a member of the Alberta Hotel Association. | | SCOPE AND CONTENT: | Fonds consists of records pertaining to a number of hotels throughout Alberta including a variety of licenses issued to different hotels, photographs of hotels and other miscellaneous records.
