ADMINISTRATIVE
SCOPE AND CONTENT:

The series consists of records from the professional work of Henry G. Ward, as well as his teacher training, including: report cards; exam results; teaching diplomas and certificates; letters of reference; school inspection reports; a first aid certificate; teaching notes; speeches delivered as principal; published materials; reports; examinations pertaining to education administration; photographs of school classes, sports teams and events; architectural photographs of Bonnie Doon Composite High School (BDCHS); and, gifts from Henry’s BDCHS Farewell Ceremony, including an autograph book, a photo album, and an audio tape.

The series also includes records from Henry’s volunteerism, hobbies and extra-curricular activities. This includes: correspondence, background information, proposals, minutes, and other materials from Ward’s participation on the Edmonton Historical Advisory Board and its involvement in the creation of the Fort Edmonton Park; materials from Ward’s work as a Canadian Executive service Organization (CESO) Commissioner for the Alexander First Nation (Cree: Kipohtakaw); a handwritten catalogue of Henry’s collection of Western Canadian Literature; . a ceramic design sketch book; a heritage preservation certificate from the City of Edmonton; photographs of Gyro Park and the Edmonton River Valley; photographs from the Barkerville Historic Town and Park in BC; and, photographs of the Alberta 10th Anniversary Old Boys Parliament, Grant MacEwan and Henry Ward, and the Edmonton Rotary Club Board of Directors.

Also included is a subseries of records created and compiled by Henry related to his and his wife’s family history and genealogy.
