HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: On March 20, 1920, men and women around Longview, Alberta met to establish a joint local of the United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) and the United Farm Women of Alberta. They called themselves the Longview Local, and were allocated local union number 393. On February 28, 1923, the Women’s Section of the Longview Local decided to reorganize themselves as a local union of the United Farm Women of Alberta, under the name Windy Hill Local.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The sous-fonds consists of the records of the Longview Local of the United Farmers of Alberta, and includes the membership roll, cash book, and minute book of the local union.
