HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Count Paul de Beaudrap (1861-1944) was born in France and came to Ghost Pine, Alberta in 1904 with his brother Roger and F. de Torquet, after some time in a community of French aristocrats at Whitwood and Saint-Hubert, Saskatchewan (1891-1899) and a short travel back to France in 1899. With Armand Trochu, he was one of the French founders of the St. Ann Ranch Trading Company in Trochu in 1905, where, in 1906, he also had a butcher shop. He was married to Yvonne Marie Adrienne Ribard (1862-1942) and had six children, Joseph, Xavier, Yvonne (Sister of Charity of Our Lady of Evron, 1894-1947), André, Bernard and Genevieve.
CUSTODIAL HISTORY:Mr. Xavier de Beaudrap, a son of Paul de Beaudrap, deposited these records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1972.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The records consist of the 'Diaries of St. Ann Ranch - Three Hills', 1904-1933, on microfilm.
