The very first Nu Phi Mu chapter was established in Greenville, Illinois in 1939. In 1956, Nu Phi Mu was brought into Beta Sigma Phi as a degree of membership. There was to be one chapter per city, with as many units as were needed. The first junior affiliate unit in Edmonton, Phi Beta, was formed in September 1949. Three new Nu Phi Mu units were formed in October 1964: Phi Kappa, Phi Mu and Phi Omicron. | SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The sous-fonds includes Phi Omicron minutes, Phi Beta minutes, bylaws and guidelines, a Nu Phi Mu President's Guide Book, Beta Sigma Phi and Nu Phi Mu manuals, and Phi Mu scrapbooks, documenting the activities of the Chapter, which contain newspaper clippings, invitations, cards, programs, and other ephemera along with over 350 photographs of members and Chapter events. | GENERAL NOTE: | Information for the administrative history is from the records. | RELATED FONDS: | PR1093 (Beta Sigma Phi fonds)
