HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: | Lucienne Marie Pagé was born in 1905 in St. Albert, Alberta. She was the daughter of Felix and Eugénie Pagé. The family moved to Chauvin, Alberta in 1912 and Rivière-qui-Barre, Alberta in 1923. By this time, Lucienne was living in Edmonton, Alberta and attending the Edmonton General Hospital School of Nursing; she graduated in 1927. She was the first Franco-Albertan nurse born in the province. She worked as a nurse in Wainwright, Alberta, becoming matron, until 1940 and in Westlock, Alberta until 1944. She married Arthur Joseph Cantin in 1944; they had one daughter, Marie (Moser). Lucienne Cantin died February 24, 1990.
