| LEVEL OF DESCRIPTION: | Series | No.: | PR2982.0002 | TITLE: | W.G. Milne, Bowlen Building | DATE RANGE: | 1965-1974 | ADMINISTRATIVE | SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The Bowlen Building in downtown Calgary holds now several departments of the Government of Alberta,
including the Lands Titles office. The building was named in the memory of John J. Bowlen
who was a Calgary MLA foe 14 years, House Leader for the Liberal Party in 1936 and 1937, and
Lieutenant Governor of Alberta from 1950 to his death in 1959.
The series consists of surveys, site plans, perspectives, floor plans, wall sections, elevations, stair details,
entrance details, parking drawings, other family courts plans and Land Titles plans, and plans of the
Bowlen Building Annex started in October 1974.
