LEVEL OF DESCRIPTION: Series
No.: PR3631.0010
TITLE: Anthony Mokry series
CREATOR: Anthony Mokry
DATE RANGE: 1986-2000
EXTENT: ca. 0.08 m of textual material
ADMINISTRATIVE
HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Anthony Mokry was a member of VANA Edmonton and a veteran of the Second World War as a member of the Canadian Army. He held several executive positions within VANA Edmonton and the national VANA organization, was involved in other organizations such as Project Ploughshares and the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians, and actively campaigned for the abolition of nuclear arms and for peaceful resolution of international conflicts through speaking events, letter-writing, and his work in VANA. Mr. Mokry died in September, 2005.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The series consists of records used or created specifically by Anthony Mokry in his work with VANA. These records include national convention packets and notes, correspondence, minutes, agendas, and administrative files.
ARRANGEMENT NOTE: Several of these records are similar to those found in other series, such as meeting minutes and correspondence. However, the original arrangement of these records was different from the clearly identified files arranged into other series. Furthermore, many of the records in this series have been annotated by Mokry. The records in this series were presumably arranged for personal use by Anthony Mokry and thus reflect that assumption.
