The Turner family, John, Margaret and sons John (Jack) Richard and George came to Edmonton, Alberta in about 1913. While in Edmonton, George worked as a painter. He enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1914. After the war, he worked as a painter before working for the Canadian National Railway Express. He was president of the Edmonton Red Chevron Club. George and wife Dorothy (Hannley) had one son, Edwin, and one daughter, Margaret Rose (Adamson).
