HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Brenda Hemsing was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1960, but spent her childhood on a farm near Ponoka, Alberta. She studied journlism arts in Calgary, Alberta. She has worked as a photographer, report, lab technician, and studio photographer. Her photographs have appeared at Patrick Doheny Fine Arts Ltd. (Vancouver), Exposure Gallery (Vancouver), Paper Ya Gllery (Vancouver), Vancouver East Cultural Centre, Silver Image Gallery (Seattle), Pitt International Galleries (Vancouver), Spotty Dog Photo Labs (Vancouver), Women in Focus Gallery (Vancouver), Del Bellow Gallery (Toronto), Muttart Art Gallery (Edmonton), and Folio Gallery (Calgary). In 1992 Hemsing resided in Vancouver.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The fonds consists of images taken by Brenda Hemsing in 1984 of auctions located in Alberta communities including Hussar, Milo, Water Valley, Spruceview, Calgary, Rimbey, Finnegan, and Conrich.
