ADMINISTRATIVE
HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Jeanne Keroack was born in Edmonton in 1918 to Emma (Baril) and Albert Keroack. Tharcis Forestier was born in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan, in 1914 and he died in Edmonton on April 26, 1982. Tharcis was one of the first three employees of Radio-Edmonton CHFA. Jeanne married Tharcis Forestier on August 12, 1952. They had two boys, Michel and André. André died in 1996 in a car accident.
CUSTODIAL HISTORY:The records were kept by Jeanne Forestier and donated to the Provincial Archives of Alberta by Michel Forestier in 2012 and 2013 on behalf of his mother.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The fonds includes memoirs, personal and professional correspondence, a diary of Jeanne, sewing class notes and patterns, music sheets, programs of artistic activities, financial records, genealogical records, newspaper clippings, eulogies and obituaries, reports from CHFA Radio, weekly chronicles written and broadcast by Tharcis for CHFA for the program “Cette semaine à Edmonton”, as well as two paintings by Tharcis Forestier.
ARRANGEMENT NOTE: The fonds includes the Jeanne Forestier sous-fonds and the Tharcis Forestier sous-fonds.
