HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: The Pashley Mutual Telephone Company was incorporated under The Companies Act on November 3, 1959 and served the area around Medicine Hat and Irvine, Alberta. Specifically it included Townships 11, 12, and 13, Rages 3 and 4, West of the 4th Meridian (11,12,13-3,4-W4). Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) assumed provision of communication services in the area on February 8, 1972, though the Pashley Mutual Telephone Company was dissolved in 1973.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: Fonds consists of the business records of the Pashley Mutual Telephone Company and includes minutes, agreements, subscriber accounts, correspondence, financial records, telephone statistics, line maintenance diary, annual reports, certificate of incorporation, Alberta Government Telephone publications, plans of telephone wires crossing Canadian Pacific Railway tracks, and maps.
