HISTORY/BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Rolland (Rollie) David Bertram Cook was born March 22, 1952 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was the son of Ian M. and Hope (McKay Sladdon) Cook. Rollie attended Strathcona School in Edmonton, and Earl Grey Western High School in Calgary, Alberta. He studied at the University of Alberta, the University of Paul Vallery (Montpellier, France) and Laval University. He was an accounts manager for a public relations firm before becoming the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Edmonton-Glengarry constituency in 1979 for the Progressive Conservative Party. He was reelected in 1982, and did not run in Edmonton-Glengarry in the next election.
SCOPE AND CONTENT: The fonds consists of the correspondence and working papers of Rollie Cook while an MLA; the records are arranged into two series: General records and constituency records.
ARRANGEMENT NOTE: An attempt was made to retain the original filing system which was set up in two sections. Both the general files and the constituency correspondence are arranged alphabetically by subject.
