Local 1016 merged with Local 583 in Calgary, and Local 1738 in Lethbridge, in 1969 to become District Council 77. Circa (ca.) 1994, District Council 77 became Alberta Local 177. The name International Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators, and Paperhangers was changed to the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades in August 1999. | | CUSTODIAL HISTORY: | Mr. S. J. Beaumont deposited these records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1973.
